Mark 2. The story I am pulling out is one of faith and friendship. The place that Jesus was teaching was so packed there was no room to even stand. “Some men came, bringing to Him a paralytic, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus…lowered the mat the paralyzed man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, ‘Son, your sins are forgiven” (Verses 3-5). There is so much more to this story, some much more to this Chapter (please read it on your own). Here is what I wanted to emphasis. They brought their friend to Jesus! They couldn’t help, they had (in my mind) exhausted all their human effort, so they did the one thing they knew would work…they let GOD (literally). Secondly, they didn’t let obstacles stand in their way, when there was no clear path to Jesus, they sought until they found a way. I am so convicted by this, I have know lots of people who need Jesus, yet I let obstacles obstruct me. They made a hole in a roof to bring their friend to God, but I can’t open my mouth?! I will today follow the example of these men, I will bring the people I love to the ONE who loves them most.
