Mark 7. “Again Jesus called the crowd to Him and said, ‘Listen to me, everyone, and understand this. Nothing outside a man can make him unclean by going into him. Rather it is what comes out that makes him unclean.’ After He left the crowd and entered the house, His disciples asked about this parable. ‘Are you so dull?’ He asked. ‘Don’t you see that nothing that enters a man from outside can make him unclean? For it doesn’t go into his heart just his stomach, and then out his body.’ He went on: ‘What comes out of a man is what makes him unclean. For from within, out of men’s hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance, and folly. All these come from inside and makes a man unclean'” (Verses 14-23). Notice all this was already inside. I am not saying that we are all evil I am saying we ALL sin. We all make mistakes, we ALL have the capacity to do great evil, if we give into the desires that are in us. The Bible states: “There is NO one righteous—not even one” (Romans 3:10, NLT). But God has given us the power to overcome, it is found at the foot of the cross.
