As I was deciding on how to put my day into words, (after such a rough week). I saw this comment from, hope4theheart.wordpress.com, “With forgiveness comes freedom. Wise choice!” It made me laugh out loud (yup, I lol’d). Why? Because I was thinking the same thing. Today I feel FREE! Like yesterday did not happen. Yes, I am aware it did happen, I am not delusional. But when I made the choice to let it go, when I decided to not make it the focus of my mind…it had no control over my emotions anymore. I am really and truly no longer upset. I don’t hold any festering feelings. Today, as I look back I find that I am thankful for all that has happened (no I am not crazy). If these events had not taken place, I wouldn’t have learned that I had this in me. I wouldn’t have seen the beauty of tapping into God’s resources. “Life is hard, the world is cold. We’re barely young and then we’re old… Yes, life is hard, but God is good” (Life is Hard (God is Good), by Pam Thum).

“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in Me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world” (John 16:33, NLT).

So what I am thankful for today? Freedom!

  1. I love that verse. he has overcome the world!!!! And He is in us and with us always. That is so encouraging!
I had to learn the hard way to forgive as well. The resentment built up and I was bitter and unhappy until I learned to forgive and let go. It really is freeing!

    • lol…I am beginning to think that no one learns to forgive the easy way. Thank goodness that we have hope in Christ. That because He overcame, we too can overcome.

      • Absolutely! I think sometimes learning some things the hard way is a good thing because the lesson hits us harder and deeper and we really grow through those hard times! He knows what He is doing!
