Luke 17. “Now on His way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As He was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met Him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, ‘Jesus, Master, have pity on us!’ When He saw them, He said, ;Go, show yourselves to the priests.’ And as they went, they were cleansed. One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked Him—and he was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, ‘Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?’ Then He said to him, ‘Rise and go; your faith has made you well'” (Verses 11-19). They ALL called Him Master, only one of them acted as though it was true. We are all guilty of the sin the other nine committed, “the cry out to God when our back is up against the wall, yet forget to praise Him when He delivers” syndrome. The one came back and heard these words “Your faith has made you well”. My interpretation…the other nine will be subject to this again their need for God was self serving, their motivation was not pure. The one will be healed forever inside and out. He found the true and living God through this circumstance. He received REAL forever healing.
SIDE-NOTE: This is the first time that I have had a hard deciding which verses to share. The entire Chapter is chock full of very needed practical application. My advice read the ENTIRE chapter on you own. If you don’t have a Bible borrow one from a friend. If your friends don’t have Bibles…get NEW friends.
