Blast from the past. I have been scrolling through my Facebook page reminiscing and just thinking about the ways I have changed over the past few years. It is funny how things I thought were so important three years ago, are so trivial now. Growing up really does give us a new perspective (if we choose to let it). I scrolled all the way to January of this year and remembered the day I started posting the things I was thankful for (this blog started as blurbs on my Facebook page). I was not always thankful. In many ways this blog has been more than just words that I type from my computer. For me this has been an instrument that God has used to shape me. This blog has allowed me to take things out of my head and give them a voice. It has helped me to find joy and thankfulness even when the circumstances were not good. It has taught me about life, about friendship, about gratitude, and most importantly it has helped strengthen my belief  and faith in God. My desire is that it helps others find reasons to be thankful even if they don’t feel it. No matter who you are, no matter how bad the day has been. If you take the time to look you will find that there was one thing you could be thankful for, even if it is something as simple as being thankful it didn’t rain. On January 2nd 2013, this was my Facebook blurb of thankfulness:

Day Two: thankful that God surprises me with grace and blessings…even when I DON’T deserve them.

“The blessing of the LORD makes a person rich, and He adds no sorrow with it” (Proverbs 10:22, NLT).

So what am I thankful for today? This journey, this blog, and the things that I have yet to be thankful for.
