I have a disclaimer, my sense of humor is a little…different. I have literally spent this whole day laughing. Everything I have heard and seen in this day has been humorous to me (this could be a brain defect). My morning started like this: Sitting at my computer, when all of a sudden Singh walks down the hall and says, “Some one just drove their car into the Center!” What?! I know it’s wrong but my first thought was, “Maybe they wanted their chemo to go”. This of course made me laugh and thus began my day. Now as I sit back and analyse the day, I am wondering what happened? How did a very normal human being manage to drive his/her very expensive vehicle into a very large building? My answer, they weren’t paying attention. Then I began to think to myself, how many buildings have I driven into (not literally of course)? How many things have I broken, bumped, or bruised simply because I was focused on something else? Many times I find myself living life distracted. Let’s face it this journey is filled with lots and lots of “noise”. People, places, and things that can pull us in the wrong direction, causing us to drive our “cars” into buildings. Today I am reminded that I have a guide book. A love letter written to me (and you) from someone that adores us.  In it I find the strength and focus I need to keep my car going straight. I know it works, because today someone gave me the greatest compliment ever. She said, “You’re always so happy.” I was about to rebut, when it hit me, I really am HAPPY…correction THANKFUL.

“Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure” (Psalm 16:9, ESV).

So what am I thankful for today? A good GPS (God’s Perfect Steer).
