I am having an aftermath day. Why? Too much sun, too many roller-coasters, and getting home at around 2 am. I am paying for my “yesterday” fun, today. That being said, who knows what will come out of my brain as I post. This is just a warning, please don’t hold any gibberish against me (my brain is somewhat mush like today). I have noticed a trend with myself today. I can’t focus (mostly because I just want to sleep), as a result things that have been said, told, or asked of me has (very literally) gone in one ear and out the other. I for most of this day have not been able to retain any information. This has lead to quite a few humorous conversations. I have been reflecting on how this mind-set (or lack thereof) has affected my day. The result: I can’t accomplish anything. I start something and then think, “I’ll do it later.” As a result all the things I had planned for the day have only been partially accomplished. What’s my point? There are many of us who go through life like this. We think to ourselves: “I’ll finish it later.” “I’ll pick it up again when I have more time.” We become people who never finish what we start. As I sit here contemplating my half finished day, It hit me that we are meant to not just start, but to FINISH as well. On this journey we will get waylaid and we may sometimes put something aside with the intention of taking it up again. Here’s a bit of advice: Finish what you start. Unfinished things tend to accumulate. Life has a beginning and an end, so does everything else.

“Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6).

So what am I thankful for today? Post. Finished. Yes!
