Hahaha!!! Today is down right hilarious I will tell you why. I am a little addicted to my laptop (and by a little I mean CAN NOT live without). One of the perks of working at a hospital is that w have an awesome IT department, whom I happen to have a great relationship with. This means when my personal laptop needs a little update, I have at my disposal a group of the best of the best at what they do. This morning I brought my laptop in to my FAVORITE IT guy, Frank. For the past couple of weeks it has been giving me an update message for something that I have already updated (several times). Frank takes my beloved computer and says, “No, problem, come back at 2:30”. To which I reply, “Okay, see you in a bit”. At 2:40 I knock on his office door…No Frank. I call his extension, no Frank. WHAT!!!!!!! I am panicking. Frank has gone home, he left at 2:00 pm! I am fuming. Fuming? Why? Nothing devastating has happened. No one has died, the world has not ended. I am not without technology. Am I really this upset because I won’t have my laptop for a few hours? Why yes, yes I am (I am a BIG baby). With so many things happening in the world at large I am a little disappointed in myself for being waylaid by the lack of a laptop. What’s my point? Don’t get attached to the “unimportant”, hold on to things with a loose grip. On this journey there will be many things to get angry about, things that actually deserve anger. The lack of a laptop is NOT one of them.

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal” (Matthew 6:20).

So what am I thankful for today? Lack of laptop and IT Frank.
