DAY 293

Wake up, walk forward toward your future toward your goals...

Wake up, walk forward toward your future toward your goals…

Ever heard something that just, just…spoke straight to you? Today I had that experience. At church we had the pleasure of hearing the Reverend Billy Graham (not in person, via video). The sermon is part of a package that we as a church will be given at Christmas time, the goal, to pray about who we are meant to give it to. It is part of our holiday outreach. The message was about time. We can’t manufacture it, we can’t store it. We have no control over it whatsoever. Time moves at its own pace, and is not hindered or derailed by us in any way. As I sat listening to the message by Dr. Graham, this thought popped into my mind. “What am I doing with my time?” I am seizing the moments, or am I squandering them? It dawned on me that I have this belief (falsely so), that I have time to do what I am not doing now, later. What I am not taking into consideration is that I am not promised tomorrow, or even the rest of today.  I have wasted a lot of time that I wish I hadn’t. So I am going to listen to the wise words of Billy, “No matter how much time you’ve wasted in the past. [If God wills] you can still have right now.” Redeem the time, don’t waste it.

“Making the most of the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:16).

So what am I thankful for today? Redeeming my time, not wasting it.
