Philippians 3. “Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus” (Verses 12-14). You want to attain your future goals? Let go of the past, no one can move forward carrying weights that hold them down. Paul makes this point clear, for him to lay hold of the reason, for which Christ laid hold of him, he had to let go of his past self. Let Go: Such simply words to say and spell, but such a hard action to accomplish. Not only did Paul say we needed to let go, he said “FORGET”. Why? Letting go is one thing, but things that we let go of, if we hold them in our memory, in our heart we are liable to pick them up again. Therefore forget the past, press on to your future. The future God intended for you.
