2 Thessalonians 1. “With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of His calling, and that by His power He may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ” (Verses 11-12). It just dawned on me as I read these verses that Paul doesn’t say to the reader become worthy of the call, he says to them, let God make you worthy of HIS call. We can’t do it on our own. In our own strength we would never be worthy of God’s calling. It is His power in us that transforms and changes us. Our humanity seeks self satisfaction and our own selfish desires. God’s grace and love in us is what leads us to step out of ourselves. My prayer today is that we ALL allow God to make us worthy of His call.
