When we focus on the forest all we see are tress. When we focus on the flower, we see the butterflies.

This post is being written from my cell phone (I apologize in advance, my phone loves the auto correct). The reason I am posting from my cell is because I am getting my hair done. Wait. Correction. I am SUPPOSED to be getting my hair done. I am here, ready and willing, but my hairdresser is NOT. Sitting here for the past 30 minutes has given me time to ponder about, well, time. How I use it. How I waste it. How I treat it when it affects someone else. Today my time is being affected and to be honest I am a little irritated. But I really don’t have the right to be, because on many occasions I have taken other people’s time for granted. I think this week God has used other people to help me check my behavior and attitude. I have been placed in more than one situation that was not to my liking. Just about the time I am fixin’ to complain; that gentle reminder pricks my heart and says, “Remember when you…” We are so quick judge when the shoe is on someone else’s foot. But we expect grace and understanding when we’re the culprit. The same grace we are hoping to receive, we must be willing to give out. Today my hairdresser needed to go get her kids. So grace is the order of the day. She has done the same for me many times (and I have no kids).
“But He gives more grace. Therefore it says, ‘God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble'” (James 4:6).
So what am I thankful for today? Learning to be gracious.
