James 5. ” Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!” (Verses 7-9). It’s hard to be patient. It is even harder to wait patiently. I would like to start a movement banning these two words from ever being used in the same sentence (wait and patiently). Why? I find this action so, so, so HARD to do. Yet, nothing that’s worthwhile ever comes quickly. All the really great blessings take time and preparations and begs the waiter to be patient. Example childbirth. Recently one of my friends gave birth to the most adorable baby girl on the planet, but she took nine month to get here. Her mother had to wait patiently. Don’t forget the call, don’t live life as though God does not exist and does not do what He says. He tarries not because He can’t get here, but because He is merciful. If He’d come 50 years ago, 20 years ago, how many of us would have missed out? Today don’t mistake mercy for forgetfulness. Wait patiently on the Lord.
