1 Peter 2. “Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by Him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people. Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves. Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor” (Verses 13-17). Show respect to…everyone? Yup, that’s what it says. I know. I know. Some people you just, well, don’t want to respect. But that’s not a call we get to make. I don’t always agree with my employers, with my parent, with the President even. But I respect their position. I respect the fact that if it was not God’s will for them to hold their titles, they wouldn’t have them. I see only a part of the picture, God made His choice because He sees the ENTIRE picture. He knows why we have the parents we have, the president we have, the employers we have. Respect them, because Good placed them there.
