Revelation 21. “Then I saw ‘a new heaven and a new earth,’ for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away” (Verses 1-4). Okay this will sound weird, but there are some days when I think about the world passing away and I feel a jilt of nervousness. Does anyone else ever feel that? Not that I am scared of God’s way, I know He has good in store for me. But more like it’s so majestic, so otherworldly that I am not sure how to think or feel and so I get jittery. However, at the same time I am excited to live in place with no tears, no hate, no lying or cheating…I am excited to see God.

About lsgrlr

I wanted to do something new. Not something arbitrary like joining a gym, losing weight, getting married, etc. I wanted to change from the inside-out. So, I decided to find one thing to be thankful for each day. On this journey some days have been really good, while others have been disastrously bad, yet every day has produced at least one reason to be thankful. My perspective is changing and for that I am ... Thankful.

  1. I know what you mean. It’s scary to think about living in some other world, even if it is a perfect world. I did recently read something that made it much more inviting. We will still learn in heaven! We will be perfect, but that doesn’t mean we will know everything there is to know. God still continues to reveal Himself to us through different means. Life in heaven will not be static and boring. Far from it!
