Revelation 22. “I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. But he said to me, ‘Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets and with all who keep the words of this scroll. Worship God!'” (Verses 8-9). What did the angel say? “Worship GOD.” I have noticed lately this trend of asking angels to take care of us. Not that believing angels exist is a bad thing. But when they take the place of God, well, it is. I have been pondering lately why we do this? I think it is because we are looking, needing something that is bigger than ourselves (even if we won’t admit it). We want to be saved, but on our terms. So we don’t have to sacrifice our wants. But here’s the truth, angels are NOT God, they can’t save us, or forgive sins. They do what He tells them to do. Why? Because they serve Him as well. Let’s stop looking for help on our terms. Let’s do what the angel said…Worship God.
