DAY 26 (2014)

Standard
Silence keeps us bound.

Silence keeps us bound.

First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out– because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out– because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out– because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out– because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me– and there was no one left to speak out for me.  – Martin Niemoller

Having one of those days, were everything I hear and see feels profound. Today every lesson is something I want to hold in my heart, something I want to remember. The quote by Martin Niemoller reminds me that silence is NOT an option. We all have a purpose, a reason, and a voice. We are called to be light and salt. If we don’t do what we are called to do the world will be dark and tasteless. I have been playing the song Ocean (by Hillsong United) on a loop. Why? Because it feels as though someone took the cry of my heart, wrote it down and put music to it. Here’s the line that grabs my heart every time: “Spirit lead me where my trust is without boarders let me walk upon the waters, wherever You may call me. Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander, and my faith will be made stronger in the presence of my Savior.” Ever have that desire; to have a boarder-less faith? Today as I sat in church, God reminded me of this new path He and I have started together. He reminded me He gave me a voice, and gave me a vision. Now it is time to be salt and light, it’s time to speak…He will break our barriers and make our trust have NO boarders.

“No one lights a lamp and then hides it or puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house” (Luke 11:33).

So what’s my plan of attack? Simple. Boarder-less TRUST.
