Genesis 14. “Now the king of Sodom said to Abram, ‘Give me the persons, and take the goods for yourself.’ But Abram said to the king of Sodom, ‘I have raised my hand to the Lord , God Most High, the Possessor of heaven and earth, that I will take nothing, from a thread to a sandal strap, and that I will not take anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich’— except only what the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men who went with me: Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.’” (Verses 21-24). Would you be able to do what Abram did? I have been asking myself that question. Would I have been able to let go of all that so that only God would be glorified? At this moment my answer is yes. But my prayer is this, Lord give me the strength to let go of ANYTHING (no matter how amazing) that doesn’t bring you glory.

Abram was so dependent on God. I think that is the only way he could have done it! It’s the only way any of us can do it. Giving up our rights…giving Him glory. It’s definitely a daily struggle.
So true. I want that kind of faith.
