Genesis 28. “Then Jacob made a vow, saying, ‘If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear so that I return safely to my father’s household, then the Lord will be my God and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God’s house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth'” (Verses 20-21). This prayer of Jacob is mine today as well, that God will go before me and provide all my need, because He is my God. Jacob faced a hard road. Imagine his guilt. He had stolen what rightfully belonged to his brother,  and he had deceived his elderly father. He needed a place of refuge. He needed to know that despite all of that God would be his God. That He would do all that He promised. We  know from hindsight He certainly did. Therefore today, like Jacob let’s allow God to do what He said. Let’s allow Him to be God.
