Genesis 40. “But remember me when it is well with you, and please show kindness to me; make mention of me to Pharaoh, and get me out of this house. Then he restored the chief butler to his butlership again, and he placed the cup in Pharaoh’s hand. But he hanged the chief baker, as Joseph had interpreted to them. Yet the chief butler did not remember Joseph, but forgot him” (Verses 14, 21-23). The Butler made a promise that he would remember Joseph, if the interpretation came true. Which it did. However, when he received what wanted he forgot the promise he made. It seems so unfair, but it’s human nature to forget where we came from once we get to where we’re going. I know I’ve done it. Today let’s be mindful of the importance of being people of our word.

I try to keep my feet on the ground and not get carried away.
I do too. I am learning to not say it if I really don’t mean it.
