I have hidden Thy word in my heart. (Picture by Lisa R)

Numbers 28. “On the fourteenth day of the first month is the Passover of the Lord . And on the fifteenth day of this month is the feast; unleavened bread shall be eaten for seven days. On the first day you  shall  have a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work” (Verses 16-18). I realized something while reading this chapter. The putting away of “customary work”, was a means to keep Israel from being distracted. They were to be worshipping God, bringing Him gifts of praise and thanksgiving. It is what they (we) were created for. Therefore God did not want them distracted. Let that be a lesson for us today. Let nothing not even the “customary” distract us from our worship of God.
