Deuteronomy 4. “Surely I have taught you statutes and judgments, just as the Lord my God commanded me, that you should act according to them in the land which you go to possess. Therefore be careful to observe them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes, and say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people'” (Verses 4-5). Did you see it? We aren’t just meant to possess the promise we are suppose to live in it and be an example to those around us of the greatness of God. How? By being obedient to God’s direction, to His statues. The theme has always been obedience: listening and following. God promises His peace if we do.
