Deuteronomy 30. “Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, ‘Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?’ Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, ‘Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?’ No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it. See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to Him, and to keep His commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess” (Verses 11-16). God gives all of us choices: Life and prosperity or death and destruction. That is the beauty of free will, we can choose to serve and obey or we can chose to walk away and do our own thing. However, our actions have consequences, obedience leads to life and prosperity, while disobedience leads to death and destruction. I have noticed this theme in my devotions for the last few months now… Obedience=Life. I have been preparing for my move to a place and location that I believe God is calling me to and His instruction to me, OBEY. I love God and have lived life trying to do what He says (for the most part), but I have to admit that there are areas I fall short (really, really short). But God is gracious and will take His time working on our issues. Today I am taking a step closer to God’s promises for me, and in the process I am letting God deal with my heart and life. Why? I want life and prosperity NOT death and destruction. Today I implore all who read this to let God open the door to life. Let Him do His work.
