1 Samuel 16. “But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart'” (Verse 7). It is a comfort to me that God looks at our hearts, our intentions. He see us to the core of our being, He knows who we truly are. We see the limited, only what people want us to see, and because of this many times we make wrong choices, wrong decisions. Why? Because we judge the book by its cover, never taking the time to read the chapters. The beauty of God is that He sees our “chapters”. Samuel saw one that “looked” like a king. But God saw the one who was “created” to be King. Don’t be fooled by what is on the outside, life is deeper than what we see. Read the chapters first. Covers don’t tell the whole story.
