1 Kings 5. “But now the Lord my God has given me rest on every side; there is neither adversary nor evil occurrence. And behold, I propose to build a house for the name of the Lord my God, as the Lord spoke to my father David, saying, ‘Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place, he shall build the house for My name'” (Verses 3-4). God gave Solomon rest, but instead of resting on his laurels, Solomon got busy. He wanted to build God a home. The God who had blessed him with wisdom and peace. I am blessed by this. Because Solomon didn’t forget. Forget what, you ask? Forget to praise and live for God in the GOOD times. For the most part we get complacent when life is good, forgetting who it was that blessed us with the good we are enjoying. In this portion of scripture, in his good time, Solomon made God a place to dwell. Let us do the same, in our good, let’s give God a place to dwell.
