Judges 7. “It happened on the same night that the Lord said to him, ‘Arise, go down against the camp, for I have delivered it into your hand. But if you are afraid to go down, go down to the camp with Purah your servant, and you shall hear what they say; and afterward your hands shall be strengthened to go down against the camp.’ Then he went down with Purah his servant to the outpost of the armed men who were in the camp. Now the Midianites and Amalekites, all the people of the East, were lying in the valley as numerous as locusts; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the seashore in multitude” (Verses 9-12). If you read the above verse, I ask sincerely that you take a moment to read it again. Why? God understands that we have fears. Gideon did not say a word, but God who is aware of our every need said, “But if you are afraid…go, and afterwards your hands will be strengthened.” God gave Gideon hope. He let him hear just what he needed to hear, so that his heart would be strengthened. So that his faith would increase. If you read my DAY 261, you know my day yesterday was not the best, it was a little discouraging. But this morning God used Judges 7, 2 Corinthians 4:17-18, Proverbs 20:24, and some very needed encouragement from @hope4theheartalways, who also provided a scripture Exodus 23:20 to remind me that He hears and He understands. God is a aware of our frame, He understands that we are but dust, he knows we have fears and doubts. But if we take the time to listen, He will lean in and say, “But if you are afraid, go, and I will strengthen your hands.” Right now a song is playing and I just heard these words, “When you believe He is ALL you NEED that will be your defining moment…” God is defining us. Believe He is ALL we NEED.

Attachment to DAY 53
I do not have video attached to my blog page. So I will be attaching this in the form of a link. I sincerely hope you watch it, and that it blesses you as much as it blessed me. Yesterday I talked about how it felt like everything in my life was going opposite of the way I wanted, but GOD (my favorite words) led me to Romans 8:31-32. Today I was blessed by my friend Genevieve Oh, she is a talented singer. My favorite thing she does is putting scripture to music. Today she sent this video (you’ll never guess the scripture 🙂 ). Know this God is always in little ways telling us that we are on His mind. So blessed by His love.
Enjoy 🙂
DAY 299
Spent the evening with friends celebrating the union of my friend Stacy, to the love of her life, Phil. It was a beautiful and fun night, crazy things happen when we get together as a group. As I watched her smile, laugh, and dance. I realized how blessed we are to be able to share this moment with her. How thankful I am that she allowed me to enjoy this night with her, and to celebrate the beauty of a journey beginning. To my friends I pray that love, joy, and peace will be the center of their world. I pray that they will laugh together, cry together, grow together. Marriage is such a beautiful picture of God and His creation. On this journey we will have moments that require celebration, don’t miss those times, set them as a memorial. Because days of non-celebration will inevitably come, let our times of celebration serves as a reminder that life is not always bad, and days are not always non celebratory. Let the good days get you through the not so good days.
“This day shall be for you a memorial day, and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord; throughout your generations, as a statute forever, you shall keep it as a feast” (Exodus 12:14).
So what am I thankful for today? A beautiful night of celebration.
DAY 172
Today on my way home from work, my ears were defiled! I was stopped at a light with my windows down, the car next to me also had the windows down. This is when the assault against my eardrums happened. The driver had his stereo blaring (I am okay with loud music I play my music loud), the words of song playing were the most heinous lyrics i’ve ever heard. The rapper was saying the most degrading, disgusting things. He talked about women like they were slaves and worthless. He talked about his mother, his grandmother as though they weren’t even human. He talked about human life as though it was his job to decide who lived and died. It made me angry just listening to it. But it was down right painful to realize that society finds nothing wrong with that. In our world today, this is the norm…the musical stamdard. We have become immune. But yet still we wonder why crime has skyrocketed? Why murder and rape are prominent? We have made good things bad, and bad things good. We have (musically speaking) allowed a whole generation to be raised by gangsters. How did we get here? Compromise. You let one little thing slide and it causes and avalanche. The take away: watch your words because someone is listening, and they might just believe what you say is true. Can we go back? On our own, no. But God…with Him ALL things are possible
” With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?” (James 3:9-11).
So what am I thankful for today? That God is still God, no matter how upside down the world has become.
