2 Samuel 2. “Then the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. And they told David, saying, ‘The men of Jabesh Gilead were the ones who buried Saul.’ So David sent messengers to the men of Jabesh Gilead, and said to them, ‘You are blessed of the Lord, for you have shown this kindness to your lord, to Saul, and have buried him.  And now may the Lord show kindness and truth to you. I also will repay you this kindness, because you have done this thing. Now therefore, let your hands be strengthened, and be valiant; for your master Saul is dead, and also the house of Judah has anointed me king over them'” (Verses 4-7). There is something about David’s heart. something about the way it works, that is a picture of God’s heart. Faithful till the end. To Saul (despite the elder’s determination to kill him), David’s heart remained true and constant. In running and hiding, in making himself look like a madman, and in shacking up with the enemy… during all those times David’s heart remained true and constant to the call and direction of God. My life has nothing on David, my struggles will never even come close, but my heart does not have that consistency. I am praying for it though, everyday. Praying that I look to God in the good and the bad times. Praying that I understand the fight is for but a moment and I already have the victory in Him. Life is a lesson and David an great example of how the student should be. Always finding our consistency in God’s able arms, the greatest of all teachers.

Numbers 34. “Command the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you as an inheritance—the land of Canaan to its boundaries. Your southern border shall be from the Wilderness of Zin along the border of Edom; then your southern border shall extend eastward to the end of the Salt Sea; your border shall turn from the southern side of the Ascent of Akrabbim, continue to Zin, and be on the south of Kadesh Barnea; then it shall go on to Hazar Addar, and continue to Azmon” (Verses 2-4). Boundaries. God provided boundaries to the gift, it had a start point and an end point. I paused at this for second. God owns it all so why was He so specific with His gift? Then it hit me…The boundaries were for Israel, to see if they could stay within the guidelines that God had set. Even in the midst of blessings could they be obedient? Can we? It is easy to obey when times are rough, when we are desperate for God’s help. But often times in blessing we forget His rules and do what we want. The boundaries aren’t limits, they are a test.

DAY 327

Even if you're dead last...Finish the race. The goal is the finish line.

Even if you’re dead last…Finish the race. The goal is the finish line.

Felt domesticated today. I went grocery shopping. Came home, cleaned and did laundry. To nail the final nail in the domestic queen coffin, I cooked. However, no steak and potatoes for this girl. No, that’s just to, to…PLAIN. I made kimbap, the Korean version of a California roll. Yup, today I was super busy, Tomorrow I am taking a long, long, nap 😉 (thank goodness I am not married). What’s my point, hard work happens, and if we are going to do something we need to do it to completion. I could have stopped at any point during my day, but that would have left something undone. On this journey we’ll be tempted at every stop sign to not continue. But then we’ll never end up where we are meant to be. Don’t get lazy, finish what you start. Nothing beats that feeling of accomplishment. Today I am super tired I have done a lot today (nothing that a mother couldn’t do without breaking a sweat. Respect your mothers). My reward for the day… Lisa made Sushi :). Just so you know, DELICIOUS!

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (Timothy 4:7).

So what am I thankful for today? Kimbap and finishing today’s race.
