DAY 324

Standard
Kimchi, it's worth the wait.

Kimchi, it’s worth the wait.

Ever really wanted something, then got it? Since the beginning of this month I have been craving Korean food, anything would have satisfied my taste buds (as long as it was authentic in taste). Tonight I finally had the opportunity to go to my favorite Korean store. Where I purchase cucumber  kimchi (YUM). Guess what?  The stars have all aligned and all is right with the world. I feel satisfied. My patience and waiting has returned big dividends. It was hard waiting for almost a month, but I did not die and my wait was rewarded. What’s my point? Sometimes we are meant to wait. Usually it is the waiting time that prepares us for what we are waiting for. During my month long Korean food wait, I thought of all the things I wanted (had I jumped the gun I would have ended up in debtors prison). Waiting brought me to exactly what I needed, nothing more, nothing less. The same is true on the journey sometimes we zoom ahead of ourselves and end up never getting what we wanted, or where we are meant to be. So take my kimchi advice, don’t rush. Wait. Patience grows us up and readies us for what we are waiting for.

“But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).

So what am I thankful for today. Cucumber Kimchi.
