Revelation 9. ” The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk. Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts” (Verses 20-21). My advice would be to read verses 1-19 yourself. I am always amazed that people can see the consequences of bad actions, yet persist in doing the action anyway. Like drinking and driving, or driving and texting.  This behavior is odd to me because at our core we get mad at people who do it, but will do the same thing somehow believing that it won’t happen to us. To me this Chapter is a vivid picture of that principle. God is judging and punishing the earth’s inhabitants, a third have been wiped out and destroyed due to their lack of repentance. Yet those who remain still continue in their sin as though it does not affect them in anyway. Are we that attached to sin that we can’t see it’s destructiveness? Or is it that we see, but just don’t care? This Chapter has me pondering the things in my life that I may be blinded by. God has been faithful to every declaration He has made, thus far. He has declared He will judge the earth. Shouldn’t we take Him serious before it’s too late? Just a thought.
