DAY 24

Standard

KoreanI am learning Korean. It’s is such an interesting and oddly efficient language. In English, every sentence must contain a subject (noun) and a verb. In Korean, you just need a verb. The rule being that if everything else is implied, then it doesn’t need to be said. What a great rule! I am learning to live my life in this manner…simple. Why do we make everything so complicated? Where is the manual that says we need to make things more difficult than it needs to be in order to be living right?

If language, the means by which we communicate our life, can be simplified. Shouldn’t it stand to reason that the life being communicated can be simple as well? I am not saying that life is not hard. I am also not saying that we won’t struggle. However, the answer need not be more difficult that the problem being faced. So next time you’re faced with a situation that feels unsolvable…remember the Korean language and leave out what is unnecessary.

So what I am thankful for today? Thankful that has I am learning to find beauty, grace, and peace in simplicity.
