I woke up feeling less than stellar. I get inward when I am sick. I start to think about life… Today was no different, although there is a change in my point of view this time around. For the last few months I have been contemplating several roads that I had to choose between. Today my thoughts have been about the road I decided to take. I am a little nervous. this choice will present new obstacles, new financial responsibilities. As with anything new fear and doubt have come for a visit. I have kept my decision to myself mostly, but today I decided to tell my mom about my choice. She started  to cry (nope I am not becoming a beach bum, or a bank robber). Her reaction startled me. I asked her why she cried. Here’s her answer: “Two weeks ago I prayed for you. I told God I think you would make a good….” She proceeded to tell me that she had prayed for me to do exactly what I had chosen (I had never mention this option to my mom). Here’s what I have concluded. This road that I am about to walk, God has gone before me. It will have its own share of difficulties (all roads do). But I won’t be walking it alone. This knowledge has made the road seem less scary. When the journey gets bumpy and fear and doubt become your companions. Remember this: if it is the road you’re meant to travel God has gone before you, and prepared the path. If it is NOT the right road…take the next EXIT.

“You go before me and follow me. You place Your hand of blessing on my head” (Psalm 139:5).

So what am I thankful for today? New journeys…
