I am always surprised when I expect something to be awkward and strange, but it turns out amazingly well (with no awkwardness at all). That was the case today. Let me back track, a few weeks back I felt lead to say something to someone, that they needed to hear. I decided to write my thoughts in a letter. As I began to write the letter it dawned on me (why it had to be in letter form), the contents were something that the receiver would need to be reminded of when times got tough and they needed encouragement (it wasn’t just for now, it was for the future as well). After I wrote the message I resolved to give it to it’s owner the next time I saw them. However, I procrastinated because, well, honestly I felt scared. What if they were offended? What if they misunderstood my meaning? What if they read something more, than just me wanting to encourage them? So I held on to it. When I finally did work up the courage it was always at the end of the day, so I kept missing my opportunity to hand it over. Then one day the doors to passing the message along flung wide, wide, W. I. D. E. open, in that the owner came to visit me (this almost NEVER happens). But through a series of almost comical events, I still somehow managed to not pass it on. So today, (after having said letter for almost a month), I decided my action were just too ridiculous, so I sent an email asking them to come see me. I handed the letter over and said these words, “I don’t think this is for right now, but it is something I believe you needed to hear. So I am saying to you.” The reply, “Thank you!  He was grateful! Here’s what I learned if you have something someone needs, give it to them. Say what needs to be said, do what needs to be done. This journey is more gratifying when we help each other reach our destinations.

“Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works” (Hebrews 10:24).

So what am I thankful for today? Mission accomplished!!!!
