2 John 1. “And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another. And this is love: that we walk in obedience to His commands. As you have heard from the beginning, His command is that you walk in love” (2 John 1). Walk in love. What is love from God’s perspective? Obedience. I don’t know about everyone else, but obedience is sometimes a struggle for me. Why? Because my flesh and my spirit are constantly at war. My flesh longs for the things of the world, while my spirit the things of God. At the end of the day it is a matter of who I love more. Do I love God enough to do what He says, or do I love the world and it’s temporary pleasures more? Today the choice is ours to make, my choice: God. Why? I’ll choose everlasting and real, over temporary and fake any day.
