So I am studying, not right at this second of course. Last night I added 30 new words to the library of words my brain knows. Once this post is done, on to math. What’s my point? I want to finish my education and earn my PhD. However, in order to do that I have to be willing to sacrifice time and fun. I have to make a choice between my future and the here and now. Does that mean I don’t live in the now, and that my whole life becomes studying? No, but it means that I need to learn how to prioritize, how to put the important things first. This principle not only works for studying it works in life as well. Putting the important things first. What are the important things? Family, friends, love, putting others first, learning to look at he person and not the status. On this journey many things that seem important are actually not important, while the important things are being ignored. During this Christmas season let’s take the time to put the important things first (I’m not just talking about studying).
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, shall they give into your bosom. For with what measure ye mete it shall be measured to you again” (Luke 6:38).
So what am I thankful for today? Putting the important things first.
