Genesis 12. “But the Lord inflicted serious diseases on Pharaoh and his household because of Abram’s wife Sarai. So Pharaoh summoned Abram. ‘What have you done to me?’ he said. ‘Why didn’t you tell me she was your wife? Why did you say, ‘She is my sister,’ so that I took her to be my wife? Now then, here is your wife. Take her and go!” (Verses 17-19). Why did Abram lie? In verses 2-3, God promises Abram that he would be great, that his descendants would be plentiful. Yet he got scared and lied to Pharaoh. We do this all the time, trust God half way. We believe God for one thing, but fear that He’ll forget us for another. I wonder at how different this story would be had Abram just trusted God completely. I wonder the same for us. How different would our story be if we just trusted God completely.
