Genesis 17. “Abraham fell face down; he laughed and said to himself, ‘Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?’ And Abraham said to God, ‘If only Ishmael might live under your blessing!’ Then God said, ‘Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac'” (Verses 17-19). I often wonder why we (humans) do this? Why do we believe God only half way? God says, “I will do this…” We say, “Yes, Lord I believe.” But because it is not in our time, or in our way, we doubt. Forgetting that He always (without fail), does what He promises. Abram believed. Then he doubted. Then he questioned. Then he tried to give God other options. But I submit (personal opinion only) had Sarai and Abram just trusted God from the beginning the promise would have been realized earlier. Disobedience and non-submission lengthens the road we have to travel to get to our destination. Here’s a challenge hope you’re up to it. For this week let’s see what happens if we take God at His words.
