Numbers 23. “Then Balak said to Balaam, ‘Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all!’ So Balaam answered and said to Balak, ‘Did I not tell you, saying, all that the Lord speaks, that I must do?’ Then Balak said to Balaam, ‘Please come, I will take you to another place; perhaps it will please God that you may curse them for me from there.’ So Balak took Balaam to the top of Peor, that overlooks the wasteland. Then Balaam said to Balak, ‘Build for me here seven altars, and prepare for me here seven bulls and seven rams.’ And Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered a bull and a ram on every altar.” (Verses 25-30). Two things: What’s up with Balak that he’s not getting that God has promised to bless Israel, therefore He will not curse them. Secondly why does Balaam knowing that he can only do what God says continue to try and do otherwise? This made me think about our human nature and how our natural inclination is to war against what God wants us to do. We will walk blindly (almost star struck) into sin, but godliness we war against. Reading this makes me realize how pointless our war against God is. Why? He’s GOD! He’s gonna win.

Romans 9:19-21 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? (20) Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? (21) Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
Wow, what a great scripture thanks for sharing.
